Every once in a while I come across a commercial something or other that I think is pretty cool. I wish this place were closer to Hawaii. I’d like to check it out…If anyone lives nearby, take a trip and let me know what you find. Turns out they’ve found diamonds, a full suit of armor, a guidance system for a fighter, and more…fun site…looks like the store is more fun. On a related note, I went to a storage unit auction this weekend and paid $50 for a locker that someone had stopped paying for. My fantasies of finding a jar of gold coins or a Picasso disappeared as I found about 8000 cockroaches and a bunch of dirty underwear…the big question is…why the hell would someone put that in a storage unit????

Unclaimed Baggage is a one-of-a-kind store snuggled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and bordered by the 70,000 acre Lake Guntersville. Founded in 1970 by Doyle and Sue Owens as a part-time business, it soon became a full-time venture. In 1978, the Owens incorporated the company and watched it prosper as one of the great ‘hidden’ bargain centers for savvy shoppers.
