If you think that the current disputes with NATO, WTO, NAFTA, and the trade war with China are efforts to make the United States a great country, you are sadly delusional and obviously a sapiens. The current policies of the US Government are all designed to isolate and separate the United States from the governing power of all world bodies so that a totalitarian police state can be enacted, draconian laws can be enforced, and intellectual, financial, and political assets can be seized and controlled by the sapiens power structure. Attacks on a free press, alignment with totalitarian nation-states, and distancing from stability generating bodies are all precursors to an unprecedented seizure of power. Financial systems, communication systems, and political systems are all under attack under the guise of increasing power for an increasingly weak and powerless population.
