Sketches of Frank Gehry a very short review by Vago Damitio
Interesting to see how one man escaping from the strict disciplines of his craft can change the feel of entire cities. Gehry is eminently likable and it is easy to sympathize with him. His designs are sometimes awe inspiring and sometimes they just don’t seem to work, for me anyway. The one thing he does seem to do consistently is to use light in a way that other architects do not. Just watching this film caused me to look at the world in a very different way. I managed to stop seeing things as a single plane and to look at the way that light reflecting off other surfaces changes the feel of things.
