allAfrica.com: Sierra Leone: Freetown Flooding!
Yesterday 6th July goes down in history as another day that our compatriots at Kroobay, a slum in central Freetown were subjected to yet another flooding as a result of heavy rains.
Women and children wailed as the floods swept through scores of makeshift structures in the very popular slum. Properties worth millions of Leones were destroyed and of course this is not the very first time that such developments have occurred.
There have been stories of children drowning at this slum and some other places as a result of flooding, notably Samba Gutter also in the centre of Freetown.
