I walked towards a large iron bridge and noted the thousands of fish drying on the roofs of nearly every house I passed.

Sociopathism – American Capitalism is a Serious Problem
Lobsters generally don’t know the water around them is getting hotter until it is too late. Look, I admire entrepreneurship. I think that the marketplace of ideas and products is a wonderful thing. I am a firm believer in the idea that if you work hard, make sacrifices, and tread carefully – you should be…
Ephesus Efes – Classical Mediterranean City – Swelled with Tourists
People have been living cities in this area for about 8000 years. At about 1050 BC, it was a port city for the Greeks called Apasas. In about 300 BC, one of Alexander the Great’s generals changed it to Ephesus. For the Roman’s it was the capital city of the state of Asia. It was founded as a city dedicated to the Goddess Artemis who represented hunting and the moon. The Romans called her Diana. Ephesus stopped being a port city when the sea receded about 600 AD. Why? Because they are already looking at your data and full encryption would have closed that…
Imperial Meknes – Off the beaten track in Morocco
Imperial Meknes is a bit off the beaten track of Moroccan trips that usually hit Marrakech, Fez, Casablanca, and maybe Tangier. In my view – people are really missing out on a true wonder. The good news is that you don’t have to deal with crowds of tourists. The bad news is that Meknes doesn’t…
Art Not To Miss at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City
I originally published this back in January 2009 upon the eve of my departure from the United States. I was reminded of it when I met a guy in San Marino who voiced roughly the same opinions. I’d forgotten that I had taken such awesome photos of the art and as we wait for my wife’s visa to be approved so we can go back to the United States, I’m still looking for my shire. It’s not Morocco. Maybe I can find it by going home again…I hope so.
