Hmm…what a good idea! Let’s continue with this idea that a preemptive strike is a good way to defend yourself. If some guy is looking at you funny on the subway, you should shoot him…it’s self defense. If it looks like your boss might fire you, you should start stealing the toilet paper…it’s self defense. If a cornered madman test fires ballistic missiles into the sea of Japan you should redefine your constitution and attack thus completeing the remilitarization of one of the worlds scariest militarist regimes of the 20th century! Yes. This is a good idea.

Japan considers strike on North Korean missile bases
JAPAN is considering preemptive strikes on North Korean missile bases.
Ministers are set to meet to discuss whether it is an acceptable form of self-defence, which would fit within the country’s own pacifist constitution.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe said: “If we accept that there is no other option to prevent an attack, there is the view that attacking the launch base of the guided missiles is within the constitutional right of self-defence.
“We need to deepen discussion.”
Japan’s constitution currently bars the use of military force in settling international disputes and does not allow Japan to fund its military for warfare. Tokyo, however, has interpreted that to mean it can have armed troops to protect itself.
Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said the international community must be united in saying that North Korea’s missiles launches last week were wrong.
However, a top US envoy called for North Korea to return to nuclear disarmament talks.
US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill, who has been meeting with Japan’s Foreign Minister Taro Aso in Tokyo, added: “We want to make it clear to North Korea that what it did was really unacceptable.”
