Just a month after Chris Klein and Katie Holmes called off their engagement — and five-year relationship — she took up with Tom Cruise, got engaged a minute later and is now expecting what I’m assuming is Tom’s child. Chris ducked out of the spotlight for a while, but now he’s back — and he’s talking — in the new issue of Details.
On their split: “We grew up. The fantasy was over, and reality set in. We weren’t lighting each other’s fire anymore.” How Jim Morrison of him.
On life after Katie: “I’m not lonely. I’ll tell you that, I’m certainly not crying myself to sleep at night, sucking my thumb. No, dude, I’m out and about.” Party on, dude!
On Tom’s couch jumping: “…that’s Tom. He can do whatever the f**k he wants. Who gives a s**t? I mean, we’ve all felt the need to jump up and down on a couch. Or not!”
Added the magazine, “They have no contact. There was a rumor going around that she had been calling him but that turned out not to be true. They really broke it off completely.”
