Just to avoid any confusion…the two clowns below are not the robbers…the robbers were much portlier….and as a random aside, here is the definition of portly…it has a sort of dignity to it…in a WC Fields kind of way…a portly gentleman…the clowns must have been very striking…

EVERETT – They had red noses, white faces and wide, wild grins.
But even though the two men looked like clowns, they weren’t clowning around.
Two overweight men wearing clown masks robbed a doughnut shop south of Everett at gunpoint Wednesday, police said.
“They had red noses with big, white smiles,” Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Rich Niebusch said, recounting how a shop owner described the robbers.
The men came in through the front door of the shop in the 12700 block of Fourth Avenue W. and escaped out the back with cash. A shop owner told investigators she heard a car drive away after the robbers left, Niebusch said.
The clowns didn’t steal any doughnuts.
Sheriff’s investigators are still piecing together what happened. The husband and wife who own the shop don’t speak fluent English, and they waited until almost 9:50 a.m. before calling the sheriff’s office for help, Niebusch said.
Niebusch couldn’t find anyone at the sheriff’s office Wednesday who could recall the last time armed robbers donned clown masks.
